Gary is a fitter welder by trade and has spent 23 years in the heavy machinery industry. Prior to taking over SWGD in 2005, he was Service Manager at Plywood & Kinleith Mills.

Gary worked on and off with his father, Ken Searl, during his early years and during times when Ken was unwell and unable to run the business himself.

The experience gained has been invaluable. It gave him the opportunity to grow as a person and to meet the fantastic network of people who come together to create and install high quality garage doors. This, coupled with his passion for excellence and professionalism, gives him the drive to provide only the best possible service to his customers and clients. He is a keen outdoors man, loves hunting and fishing, is a Sea Scout Leader and is a warranted boat master.

Barbara’s background is in retail, customer liaison and credit control. Currently she is the part-time office administrator for the company while also working part-time as a teacher's aide at the Cargill School, and works part timRichard has been in the company since leaving school and undertaking his training with Gary. He is punctual, polite and trustworthy, has a great work ethic, is fantastic with the customers and he has an extensive product knowledge, knows there faults and how to repair them.
